I’ve just launched a new mobile web app which allows parents and kids to identify where the best areas are for trick or treating.

As a newcomer to Los Angeles, I’d noticed communities can seem pretty spread out and a little daunting to navigate. Twick or Tweat, developed in partnership with friends at Kluge, uses markers on top of Google maps to show good and bad trick or treat zones in real time.

The more flags the app collects, the more of a tool it becomes. For time-starved parents, this app can help them create the best Halloween experience for their kids by going to the right places – this year and next year.

So, technology can bring communities closer, making neighbors out of neighborhoods, and towns out of urban anonymity.
